Our Story
Daniel’s undergraduate schooling was originally intended to support a career as an actuary…”Without a search engine available at the time, I was not able to fully understand what an actuary actually did on a daily basis.” So began a shift into the IT industry.
After achieving a post-grad IT certificate from the University of Victoria, Daniel spent 2.5 years with DMR Consulting in Victoria, BC. This provided him with a background in enterprise-level delivery methodology and software development on the Oracle database platform. Clients included various government ministries, and Daniel was working onsite in front of clients from his very first project.
After moving to Ontario to pursue his pipe band interests more seriously, Daniel was hired by pavliks.com in Barrie as a Programmer Analyst. pavliks.com had started as a small, family-owned business, but grew over the years into the dynamic Microsoft Gold Partner it is today. Daniel was promoted to Project Manager in 2009, then to Project Management Lead in 2014, providing him with experience developing the company’s project management practices, leading a team of project managers, and actively managing at least two concurrent projects at any given time. Daniel discovered a passion for project management best practices as he worked toward his Project Management Professional (PMP) designation from the Project Management Institute (PMI) (achieved in 2015).
The summer of 2017 brought about change. With 18 years of consulting experience behind him, Daniel felt he was ready to apply his unique combination of skills in a way that would provide a better work-life balance for him and his family. Daniel Bist Consulting was born!

Daniel Bist, PMP, DASM
10 years’ experience as a software developer on various client-server and web-based platforms, plus more than 14 years’ experience as a project manager in charge of software implementations.
Had the privilege of being a part of the 2007 World Champion Grade 1 Drum Corps, awarded at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, UK
